At the Harmonia treatment room a sense of calm and tranquility is established to allow the Holistic Massage to work its wonders, combining the physical, emotional and mental to provide balance - a truely 'holistic' approach. ![]() What Is Involved In A Treatment?A holistic massage can be tailored to suit the time, requirements and finances for all. Many clients feel the benefits from a simple 30 minute back and shoulder massage, spoil yourself or a loved one and book for 1 hour and 30 minutes, alternatively go for the standard full body massage lasting 60 minutes.Each client will be asked appropriate medical questions prior to any treatment. All information given is held in the strictest of confidences. Once it is clear that a client is able to have a treatment then the therapist will leave the room and leave the client to undress and lie on the couch, covering themselves in a large towel. The therapist remains professional throughout the treatment and will enable to client to relax a much as possible. The therapist uses many different techniques including effluerage, petrissage, lymphatic drainage, kneading and tapotement to work all the main muscle groups. The depth of the massage depends on each client, the therapist works to the clients comfort level to ensure that they are relaxed throughout. Privacy is maintained and the client is then able to fully 'let go' and experience deep relaxation. Soothing, calm music is played in the background and candles fill the room with tranquil aromas combined with the touch of the massage to provide an experience for all the senses. However at Harmonia we cater for all, as many of our clients suffer from allergies to certain products or oils.Harmonia is able to offer a range of oils, and other mediums depending on the type of massage (Holistic, Indian Head, Sports etc) the skin type or any possible intolerances that the client may have. The range available includes: A variety of aromatherapy oils can also be added to any of the above to provide a totally personal experience for each and every massage. The variety of their ranges enables them to provide a frangrance and look for any room. The music played in the treatment room depends on the type of massage, a relaxing full body massage needs to evoke calm without taking the clients attention to fully. However a Sports Massage may need to be more engaging as the client will need to be participating to maximise the full benefits. The music played will reflect these essential requirements.
